Are you currently utilizing AHS homecare services? Are you content with the quality of care you receive?
If yes, you have the option to choose a different agency of your liking while still receiving funding for your care through AHS via various programs. These programs allow you to have control over the caregivers who come to your home, resulting in more consistent and favorable outcomes. Alberta Health Services has developed several financial incentives to aid you in obtaining the necessary care. These initiatives include the Destination Home Initiative, Self-Managed Care, and the Invoicing Model. We suggest that you consult with your AHS Case Manager to determine the best options for your individual circumstances and family situation. Care at Home is authorized by AHS to provide care through any of these programs.
Self Managed Care Program

The Invoicing Program
The Invoicing Program is similar to the Self Managed Care program, with the exception that you pay for your care upfront, and Alberta Health Services reimburses you with a specific monthly amount. Click here for more information on the Invoicing Program.
Destination Home
Destination Home is a program designed to move seniors out of hospital, and back home. If you are currently in hospital, speak to your AHS Discharge Coordinator about this program.
